Are you stuck trying to decide which is the right diet for you and your lifestyle. The dieting industry offers a large range of diets for the consumer to choose from, and that is easily eclipsed by the numbers of people that are looking to lose some weight. Whether that is a few pounds to fit into a swimming costume on holiday or someone that is suffering from obesity and all the health problems that can bring.
There are many diets that will claim to let you lose xx amount of lbs in a week, these "crash course" diets may be the answer in the short term, but inevitably they will not give you long term weight loss, in fact you may even gain more weight than you actually lose. You may have tried one or two diets like these in the past yourself. You start off full of hope and maybe lose a few pounds, only to find that you are gradually putting the weight back on.
Diets like the low carbohydrate(carb),low fat and high protein diets may help you lose weight, but at the same time, may be harmful to your body. For your body to function as it should, it needs both carbohydrates and fats in the right quantities. Too little carbs in your diet will leave you feeling weak, tired and irritable. Fats are what gives your body insulation against the cold.
Low calorie weight loss diets can be very helpful in your quest to lose weight. Calories are a unit of energy found in food. Your body uses calories to help you do all the activities that you perform, any calories that are not burned off by the body will be stored as fat. A low calorie weight loss plan will have you reduce your intake of calories so that your body has enough energy to do all the activities that your lifestyle requires, but not enough that you have calories turning to fat.
You may find that doing some kind of physical exercise will also help you if you are following a low calorie weight loss plan. Exercise will burn off the extra calories that are stored in your body fat. A brisk walk every day or so will be great to start with, this will help with your weight loss immensely, and as you get slimmer and healthier you may want to take up other forms of exercise such as swimming or cycling. To be honest as you lose more weight and feel healthier and more confident with your body, there is nothing stopping you taking up any activity you may desire.
